Sculthorpe Moor Community Nature Reserve - Hawk and Owl Trust

Sculthorpe Moor was created and is managed by the Hawk and Owl Trust. Situated in the Wensum Valley, Sculthorpe is rich in wildlife. The reserve contains moorland, pools, ditches, woodland, fen and reedbed, and some areas can be accessed by a boardwalk.

Wildlife highlights:
Birds - Treecreeper, greater spotted woodpecker, kingfisher, barn owls, marsh harriers, water rails, sparrowhawk, kestrel, tawny owl and hobby are amongst the many species seen here.
Mammals - Otters, wate vole, roe deer and muntjac.
Butterflies - Small tortoiseshell, Small skipper, Essex skipper, Large skipper, Brimstone, peacock, Comma, Green veined white, Orange tip, Small copper, Holly blue, Red admiral, Speckled wood, Wall Brown & White admiral are amongst the butterflies that can be seen here.
Dragonflies - Emerald damselfly, Common blue damselfly, Brown hawker, Four-spotted chaser, Ruddy darter, Hairy dragonfly, Azure dragonfly and emperor dragonfly are amongst those seen here.

Location: Just south of Sculthorpe on the A148, on the western edge of Fakenham. There is a bus stop on the A148 near the visitor centre.

Facilities: There is a car park, visitor centre, 3 hides, and an extensive boardwalk.
