Berney Marshes and Breydon Water RSPB
The RSPB's Berney Marshes nature reserve is 328 hectares (810 acres) of grazing marshes near Berney Mill, part of the Halvergate Marshes and adjacent to the estuary of Breydon Water, most of which is also managed by the RSPB.
There is a short nature trail and a viewing screen overlooking the marshes. Details of boat trips are available from the warden.
Highlights: Wading birds - Snipe, oystercatcher, redshank, lapwing, avocet. It holds internationally important numbers of wintering wildfowl, especially wigeon, teal, shoveler and pink-footed goose, and more than a fifth of the breeding waders of the Broads.
