Wildlife Photography - By Uwe Skrzypczak
On safari with your DSLR: Equipment, Techniques and Workflow.
Uwe spends a lot of time in East Africa, especially following the great migration, and a lot of this book is based around that extraordinary event.  This is a very detailed book covering all aspects of DSLR photography, including the following chapter headings:-
  • Equipment
  • Shooting techniques
  • Image composition
  • Planning your trip
  • Light in East Africa
  • NgoroNgoro Crater
  • NgoroNgoro Conservation Area
  • Serengeti National Park
  • Masai Mara
Some people can find modern DSLRs slightly daunting, as they have so much capability. This book will help you get the most out of your DSLR, especially when on safari in East Africa. However this book is for serious wildlife photographers and the equipment costs thousands, but if you are going to spend that sort of money (almost semi-professional standard) then it is well worth chipping out a few extra ££ to get the most from it.

Uwe Skrzypczak is both known as a photographer and author in Europe, and especially Germany, where he has won some prestigeous wildlife photo awards. He got involved in photography way back in the darkroom days and has made the transition to digital when the first Nikon DSLRs were available. Since then, his interests and passion have moved from architectural to wildlife photography with an emphasis on the east african wildlife habitats and a growing interest in the animal migration patterns within the Serengeti ecosysystem.

Uwe Skrzypczak regularly teaches workshops on wildlife photography in Kenya and East Africa. Read more here.
