Second tiger relocated to Sariska - Not settling well.

July 2008. A week after the first tiger, a male, was relocated from Ranthanbore to Sariska, a second tiger, this time a female, has been released in an enclosure in Sariska.

The female tiger, also imported from Ranthanbore, has not settled in at all well so far. She has spent 4 days in a small 1 acre enclosure designed to help her settle in to the new reserve but has not eaten or tried to kill any of the animals within her enclosure. The gate to the enclosure has been opened but she did not leave to go out into the wider reserve.

Male tiger

The male tiger, however, has taken to his new reserve very well, and has spent a few days exploring the reserve. He has ventured some 8 kms from the release enclosure and now appears to have settled in one of the areas with the most game.

The male is being tracked with the aid of a satellite tracking collar fitted before his release.
