Huge pod of Bottlenose dolphins seen off the Isle of Man.06/12/2008 08:08:55 December 2008. A pod of 160 Bottlenose dolphins has been seen several times around the Isle of Man recently, the largest pod ever recorded there. While dolphin sightings around the island are not uncommon, this is the first time so many dolphins have been seen in one group. There is a resident population of Bottlenose dolphins in the Irish Sea, so these may be some of the same dolphins that are well known from the Cardigan Bay and the Welsh coast. The Isle of Man is a hotspot for marine sightings, with regular visits from Basking sharks, several species of dolphins and even occasional Minke whales.
