Tiger skin seized in Kerala

18/01/2010 14:59:05 world/Asia/october_2009/tiger_kerala_wti Three arrested - search on for hunters

January 2010. A tiger skin has been seized from three traders in Kerala following an undercover operation by the Indian Forest Department earlier this month. The traders have been arrested and a search has been launched to catch the poachers responsible for killing the tiger. The operation was carried out by the Forest Flying Squad.

Preliminary enquiries revealed that the tiger had been hunted in the forests in Wayanad.

Wildlife Trust of India (WTI) has been assisting the Kerala Forest Department in wildlife trade control in the state.

Are there some dignity or awareness in the human race?

Everyday, I think to myself how can the mankind be so selfish? I think maybe 99% of people around the world give little or no importance to environmental questions. We are in the 21st century and still watching brutal scenes like this tiger killing; a jewell of nature being killed to satisfy stupid human whimsy. How can we understand that Earth is not our property, but a Nature's gift that must be preserved in all aspects. Traditional Chinese medicine leaders should think about its concepts. Less speech, more real actions. Will my children see wild tigers? I don't think so, unless world's conscience would change very swiftly. It's time to think what could be a planet without wonderful species like these incredible big cats. Is it a worthy world? I really do not believe.

As horrible as the trade is flourishing.

According to my knowledge the people of kerala are considered the most polite and humble people with 100% litteracy rate across the state according the all government and non government census agencies.
But the fact still remains the same human needs are unending and humans can go to any extent not even thinking once before carrying out these brutal and insane killing of the one of the greatest big cat species.
If humble have taken on to the trade then its high time government gets real stern to stop it here.
